Ramirez, a formerly at-risk youth who now is on the staff of
the Red Ladder Theatre Company in San Jose: Computer and gift
cards for clothing. Donations also are purchasing costumes and
props for the company, a social outreach project of the San
Jose Repertory Theatre.
ADOPT
AN ANGEL More than
1,200 children in protective custody in Alameda County: holiday
gifts, shoes, socks, clothing, bedding, school supplies. Nominating
agency: Adopt an Angel, Fremont. Special thanks to Lyn Balistreri,
who handcrafted pieces of jewelry for many of the kids.
STARTING
OVER Roxana Valverde,
a single mother with two children who is making a fresh start
at Depot Commons, a shared-housing program in Morgan Hill: Computer
and bookshelves. Also: Benches and other furniture for Depot
Commons' living areas.
