Wish Book requests touch readers' hearts

DONATIONS FLOW IN FOR MN'S ANNUAL HOLIDAY PROJECT

Mercury News

Spending time with the Holiday Wish Book moves a lot of readers to reflect about their own situations and families.

``Let these people remind us of all the blessings in our lives and maybe learn something from their courageous struggles, dignity and will to survive,'' wrote a Sunnyvale reader.

And this, from a Saratoga family: ``These are tough times for Silicon Valley, yet these are the most important times to show support for wonderful people who work hard in our valley but are faced with difficult circumstances.''

For 19 years, Mercury News readers have been learning about community needs through the Wish Book. Many choose to take the next step and make the holidays brighter by sending in a tax-deductible contribution toward helping their neighbors.

Some readers dedicate their donations in honor or memory of others. Following is a partial list of donors; look for more names throughout the holiday season.
