Essential MNIE Program (Newspapers only)





The Mercury News can be used as an educational resource for almost any subject at any grade level. You can receive classroom copies of the Mercury News for the rest of the school year at no cost to you and your school. Minimum of 10 newspapers. Just fill out the order form and select "Newspapers Only" from the list of Programs.


With this program you can receive 10-40 newspapers on the weekday of your choice, for the duration of your choice.

Dinosaurs and the Newspaper




This curriculum focuses on reading, science, and prehistory and takes your students on a journey to the fascinating world of dinosaurs. Your class will enjoy learning about these great beasts of long ago and the role they played in the history of this planet.


Teachers ordering this curriculum will receive a teacher's guide that includes many newspaper-related activities. These activities and other pages in the curriculum guide may be reproduced for classroom use.

This curriculum helps teach children basic and practical math skills to use in their daily lives. Written by a teacher, Math Power for Life contains many newspaper-related math exercises to generate student interest.

Hispanic Heritage





A salute to Latino Americans.
This is a celebration of Hispanic history that features 67 activities, each beginning with the biography of a Hispanic American history maker. Every geography is followed by a newspaper-related lesson plan and incorporates reading, writing, social studies, and critical thinking skills.
