As newspapers serving the news and information needs of our community, The Mercury News receives many sponsorship requests and annually support an average of 200 events. Our mission is to assist as many worthwhile community causes as we can accommodate. Applications receive equal consideration and are evaluated on the basis of 1) benefit and impact to community 2) audience reach and 3) history of the organization. How to Apply All event organizers are required to complete the standard Sponsorship Application. We will review it and get back to you as quickly as possible with an indication of our interest. It is recommended that this application be submitted at least three to four months before the day of your event. If the Mercury News sponsors your event, we will provide promotional ad space at no cost. Because it is important for each event organizer to understand the general terms of any Mercury News sponsorship, please review the Standard Agreement, and the statement of our Policies. These documents will be supplemented with additional details as needed should the Mercury News sponsor your event. Please be assured that the Community Relations staff will treat the information you provide with the utmost confidentiality. No one outside of the Community Relations staff will have access to this information. |
